Business Networking Meeting review by Alan Shaw

A summary of our weekly business networking meeting written from the unique perspective of one of our favourite members, Alan Shaw.

Paul Booth Rabbited a lot and Stuart Smallcombe was revealed as the Fourth Man

Beautiful weather, suddenly its warmer and everyone is in much more relaxed mode. There were still several absentees but we managed 23 in number to include 2 visitors. Plus one Rabbit!

EBF Election special – vote for the EBF Party.

A somewhat election themed networking meeting today with many members making reference to the UK election in their 60 second presentations.

In which we all learned of the 9 Disciplines and Matt Barry revealed how to treat your employees

As expected we had a low attendance because of the half term holiday and the attendant good weather but nonetheless the meeting was lively and up to the usual EBF Meeting standards. Hopefully next week we will all be back and up to our usual numbers.

Its all about the birthdays, ’bout the birthdays (no blog)

No “Official” blog recorded for todays meeting, however a special meeting as this week we’ve had 3 member Birthdays. Alan Shaws Birthday today (unknown age) as well as Matt Barrys 40th. Brian Painter was also 80 years young on Tuesday.

Stand-in Chairman today but still the same high quality networking meeting as usual

Brian Painter of Pilgrim Hypnotherapy (doing his best impersonation of Aidan Squire) chaired confidently, and guided us all through the proceedings.

Jill Willis gets us all on our feet and Michelle Adelizzi almost awarded a grab bar

This was a meeting to like; 28 present, a couple of inductions, plenty of referrals and a good 10 minute presentation. What’s not to like!

Mike Rogers multi-tasked and Alan Shaw elevated the art of water colour painting

As I introduced the meeting up leapt at least 4 members and in unison shouted “May the fourth be with you”. It is nice to see that an American universe can be brought to earth by the English ability to pun. It bode well for the rest of the meeting, in particular knowing that Mike Rogers would be multi-tasking throughout; the air could have been electric.

Kevin Radford threatened to avoid paying excise duty on imported budgerigars and Brian Painter anticipates what happened 4 years ago on a night out.

Our “Spring Breakfast” visitors day initiative meant that we had a very lively and well attended meeting today. 29 members and 9 guests, with over £55,000 of new business recorded and 44 brand new business opportunities too

In which Alan Moller was looking for something to polish and Scott Griffiths was off with the pixels

This week we were treated to three visitors one of which was a truly inspirational guest speaker who is shortly to row around the circumference of the UK. That’s 1800 miles!

Otherwise lots of fun in todays meeting and some great new business opportunities shared too.
