14 present for our 4th meeting. Nigel Kirby joined the merry band and is now our resident plumber. Adam Hotson brought a visitor, Paul Tipper from Estuary Fire Protection. He left with a membership form so possibly a new recruit.
Brian Painter was our Education and Development Officer and gave a short presentation on the 60 second round which was then put to good use in the 60 second round that followed.
The suggestion of using a “tag line” gave us, “Don’t just shout; put it out!” from Paul Tipper, Jim Henshaw, “…protecting against the unexpected…” and Tina Walker, “not nine to five; start to finish”.
Brian Painter told of a client who was “in pieces” and had the feeling of falling downstairs, but this was all over an upcoming presentation rather than just a good night out. Nonetheless our Pilgrim sorted her out, now they can’t stop her talking!!!
It was Nigel who took the Oscar with a performance that owed more to his rather fetching shorts and even more fetching legs…or so Tina thought.
The 10 minute slot was ably filled by Jim Henshaw who amongst other things told of previously being a policeman, the ultimate in protection insurance.
And so to the Referrals round, which was the first one “proper” since we set up, 7 referrals passed. From small beginnings……
A very encouraging meeting, I felt we made progress and hopefully more members and visitors next week.
This was the first meeting of the new group that had good positive energy.
Well done everyone, lets keep the momentum going.
I disagree Brian. I think that ALL of the meetings have been positive so far, but it is only now that we have all got to know each other a little more and started to run the agenda in its full form that the business is starting to flow.
I agree that this was the best one to date, but I wouldnt say (and I dont think you meant to say?!) that the others lacked any positivity.
Already had confirmation of new guests and returning visitors for next weeks meeting…
