Chairman’s Business Networking Blog, Tuesday 30th September 2014.
17 members present and 9, yes 9, visitors. Congratulations to all of you for your efforts for trying to locate potential visitors. It can be a fruitless task. Prior to the meeting I was given an indication of 11 confirmed visitors and to get 9 is a very good return.
Laura Rudd, the hairdresser has already made her application and paid her money and one or two others made the right noises after the meeting.
Having got things this far may I ask you all who made invitations, particularly to those who confirmed, to follow up:
For those who turned up, follow them up and make sure they are going to turn up next week and apply to join.
For those who confirmed but who did not turn up chase them down and get them to come to next week’s meeting a first time visitor.
For those who just unable to follow through and make contact and think they still might be interested, ‘phone them up tell them how successful the meeting was and try to encourage them to come for the first time.
And so what of the meeting itself! It was of its nature explanatory and the Education Slot and the 10 minute presentation were specifically targeted in this way.
The 60 second round also had an element of general introduction an explanation of what we did. In this regard everybody performed admirably. No 60 second round would be complete and no visitor introduction properly made if there was not the treat of Brian Painter rolling out the various constituent parts of the cigarette. He did not disappoint, and Dr Deb was her animated self, energetically describing the Vegan based hair and skin products and was quite rightly rewarded with the Oscar. I think it was the fact that she was about to invade Poland that just did it for her.
Testimonials and referrals round was probably the best that we have had. 13 referrals and nearly £3,000 worth of business recorded. We continue to progress.
If today’s Blog seems little more than a back patting exercise it was because it was deserved!
If this Blog is also a call to arms to follow up further on out visitors to try and increase the numbers who come to us following our recent initiative, that is how it should be!
I leave you to the tender mercies of Brian Painter next week with hopes of another good turn out and new members applying.
Congratulations to everyone.
Great meeting yesterday! So glad that Laura signed up. I have 2 more guests who are looking to come along – still have a landscaper and also a house clearance company, who specialise in furniture sales.
Have a good holiday Ian & Aidan. I will be going to town on the ‘C’ word in my 60 seconds next in your absence, Aidan 😉
Have a great week all!
Great meeting, all on top form as usual, cheerful as always – and plenty of guests. Onward and upwards boys and girls!
I add my congratulations to those of you who persuaded visitors to come, EBF Billericay has a very good conversion rate so we can expect at least 6 new members.
I shall expect a very good attendance next week, any absentee will need to send in a note from Matron!
Have a good holiday English Ian and Aidan and come back like lions roaring!
