The clocks go back and another dark morning but British Summertime always raises the spirits. Lots of members on holiday this week but we still mustered 21 with a couple of visitors.
The Performance League
The month of March has now passed and lots of members scored over 200 points. This this month’s winner was Jane Malyon with 266 points. It’s nice to see someone beat Matt Barry who was still on the podium.
Education Presentation
Ben Golding presented and his theme was one of urging business owners to think positively. Have a ‘can do’ attitude which means avoiding negative people, negative thoughts and always  ‘eat the elephant at the start’. It was not clear whether the elephant at the start was the same as the elephant in the room but it undoubtedly qualified as quote of the day.
New Member Induction & Existing Member Renewal
Mike Skinner and Howard Bullock have renewed and of the 2 new applications before the committee Andy O’Neill has been approved and will be inducted next week and Chris Whittle is in process. All positive!!
The 60 Second Round
Dave Roberts was the current Oscar holder and went first. He was able to boast two enquiries for log cabins and two enquiries for chargers this week.
Chris de la Prida treated us to a sneak preview of what he can be offering with a 14 night stay in Bali for £1389  per person. At that sort of rate we could probably arrange a week away for the whole of EBF. Getting up in the morning might not be so difficult under those circumstances.
Brian Painter was in clarification mode in his search for new clients. Phobias are apparently entrenched fears, such as flying or social. Frankly, if you know someone who’s hung up on anything, recommend them to Brian. Talking of stresses, Ben Golding, quite rightly, pointed out that financial worries are a source of stress and that Utility Warehouse not only provides the services as the cheapest  provider but also enables you to earn money using their discount card.
Tina Walker was keen to point out her business babysitting service now that the holiday season is a upon us. Talking of the holiday season, Blake Hammond was also anticipating the summer season with his many and varied camping products.
Paul Corrigan was certainly exhibiting a positive approach as recommended by Ben Golding in his education presentation. He’s employed a new engineer and there are three new projects that he has taken on this week.
Jane Malyon this week revealed that she was supplying hampers for employee of the month for a McDonald’s outlet. Sandwiches rather than burgers must be a change; scones cream and strawberry jam certainly are.
There were other interesting presentations but the one that caught Dave Roberts eye was Terry Maylin, who not only said he liked suing people but gave an example of a successful claim on behalf of a business against the National Health Service where he recovered not only the full amount of the debt but also compensation and interest for late payment. Take Ben Golding’s words to heart and adopt a positive attitude. Don’t leave it, pursue it! Don’t let it become an elephant either as a food source or occupying a room.
This weeks statistics and points of note
Scott Griffiths summed up last month and it was very much similar to ‘the meaning of life’. The difference between EBF last month and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was that the number was 41 rather than 42. £41,000 worth of business recorded and 41 referrals. A good month, but good months are there to be beaten!
Synergy Team Meeting
Paul Booth announced by way of reminder that there is a Synergy Team meeting next choose day at the usual venue in Mountnessing for the finance and professions team. Try and be there!
10-minute presentation by Vincent Goode
Vincent treated us to a typically laconic presentation using Paul Booth as the ‘rent a stooge’ and showing a series of beautifully presented messages including early photographs Vince with hair from boy to man. There were also great shots of his feet, a lawnmower and Boris Johnson. Really well presented, he also managed to tell us what he did and how they did it quickly. This was in sharp contrast to the speed he exhibited in acting as ‘runner’ in the referrals and testimonials round. He is also to be commended for his practical speakers prize. I will enjoy using his paper in my printer.

It was good to see people behaving themselves and keeping within the allotted 60 seconds, even Brian #whoknew? I hope the photo of my muscly man thighs wasn’t too distracting to the members and guests
