The first morning after the onset of winter that we found ourselves arriving in daylight. Forget about the meteorological spring; this is the mark of the EBF spring.
The Performance League
After only two weeks almost half the members had reached the monthly benchmark of points and I was out front. Don’t turn up next week just to gloat as I am overtaken by the ravening pack; turn up because you want to and you know it makes good business sense.
Education Presentation
Ben Golding was not with us to make the presentations. Best of luck with the doctor Ben. He had however made provision for me to stand in for him and make the introductions that are necessary given his role. It was my pleasure to introduce the Mayor of Gants Hill Village whose theme was the value of third party referrals. These are the valuable referrals that score you most points in the Performance League. More importantly, it shows that you are looking out for other members or you are the ‘go to’ person in your family when they want something done by somebody. It’s not just who you know; it’s what you remember about fellow members that triggers the referral muscle.
New Member Induction & Existing Member Renewal
Terry Maylin apparently has some membership information but he wasn’t going to share it with us today. Another reason for you all to turn up next week!
The 60 Second Round
Melissa Jackson was the current Oscar holder and as part of educating us, explained how she can help Company owners who have a viable underlying business deal with historic debts and emerge phoenix like from the ashes.
James Humphreys has been caught up in office logistics but is ready to specifically offer the services of his company in relation to health insurance matters. Several of us are able to give testimonial to the effectiveness of his team in this area of expertise. Talking of testimonials, Vincent Goode had received a very nice for producing a price list for a beauty salon.
Nick Cooke has had an interesting week. A town house with solar panels that created cracks in the ceiling because the roof isn’t strong enough and a listed building apartment that needed walls taking down.
Mike Rogers was in a reflective mood… why do we call it the ‘New Forest’ when it’s been around for over 1000 years and it’s no longer a forest. I suppose you think about things like that when you are arranging mortgages. Like Nick Cooke, Brian Painter had obviously had an interesting week. A lady who feared public speaking inquired as to whether Brian could perform remotely. When he told her that he couldn’t, she told him she would come over in May from Canada and lie on his couch. Another lady who wants to give up smoking was willing to travel 200 miles, there and back from Hastings. Pilgrim’s progress I suggest. Brian was then out-Brianed by Rosemarie Driscoll. She was intent on telling us about a holiday in Mauritius that went badly because of a dirty hotel, the effect of things being put right and then her offer of the week. 90 seconds by anybody’s calculation and when she had sat down it was possible to detect steam coming out of our timekeeper.
Terry Maylin is finding that landlords are rushing to bring possession proceedings for ‘no fault evictions’ whilst they still can. The new regime however introduces alternative grounds that can mitigate the removal of this section of the law. Send your landlord to Terry.
Jane Malyon let us into another cream tea secret. Clotted cream is too clotted for the American market. Heaven forfend that the humble scone, replete with jam, should be garnished with spray cream; or is it the spray cream that should be garnished with jam. Now there’s a talking point!
Melissa decided that the fact that people were willing to travel a long distance to see him made Brian the obvious choice for the Oscar.
Synergy Team Report
In Paul Booth’s absence I was the standing. Word obviously got out and numbers diminished. Always a useful meeting however. It’s all part of learning what the other member does and this week’s meeting was no exception.
10-minute presentation by Tina Walker
Tina produced a slideshow that more than emphasised her adaptability, flexibility and multi-talented skills. She has helped a lot of us. Let’s try and help her a bit more and find her some referrals.
Referrals and Testimonials
As a veteran process server Tina is light on her feet and did the running in this round. An amusing round brought a good meeting finally to an end
Yes! Well done Tina for your 10 minutes and the breadth of work you undertake.
Thanks to one and all for a great meeting, started off by our Vincent in style. Yay.
Small but perfectly formed is how i would describe this week’s meeting. Small but perfectly formed is also how I would describe Tina who gave a very polished presentation.
sorry, Vince just read your comment – I promise I didn’t copy it but interesting we both had the same thoughts- except you were too modest to mention yourself!
Small but perfectly formed group today and well done to those there who made it an excellent meeting- great Ed slot Vince, sometimes we need telling! Also a very good clear explanation of how you can help find Tina referrals in her polished 10-minute presentation.
An intimate meeting this week with not a gap in the seating. A timely reminder about third party referrals by the Mare of Gants Hill. Tina, your presentation was comprehensive and you are very brave to knock on a villain’s door and inform him that he’s going to prison!
Great ed slot this week from Vincent (Major of Gants Hill) small but a great meeting. See you all Thursday.
Vincent is not a major, more a corporal!
I’m not a mare either Mr Panter
Great 10 minutes Tina. I had forgotten all the services you provide. Really good meeting this week really enjoyed it .
Whilst numbers were low, spirits were high with a great Ed Slot from Vince and an informative 10 mins from Tina. See y’all next week
