When we arrived dawn was breaking, a bright morning was in prospect and nineteen of us were there to enjoy.

Following a spate of breakfast thefts our orders, ranging from sausage in brown to granola (without the granola) were all presented with our names written on a small white flag. Whether or not there is a serial breakfast thief will perhaps never be known now that we have a system of identification.

In the absence of Howard Bullock and Stuart Smallcombe the Naughty Corner was inhabited by the three Pauls. Hastily renamed Pauls corner… If ever repeated should perhaps be known as Pooh Corner…… But not today!

Performance League

After one week Terry Maylin Is out front with 116 points, Paul Corrigan and myself at his heels.

Education Slot

With the movement of members over the last year or so it was timely the Scott Griffiths offered a potted history of EBF. Unlike evolution there are still some dinosaurs left! It seemed helpful, nonetheless.

Membership Matters

Slightly unusual offering this week. Mike Skinner is one of our ‘COVID’ joiners and it transpired that he never received a membership certificates. This was corrected today. There almost wasn’t the dry eye in the house!!

60-Second Presentation Round

Toby Acton was Judge and jury this week for the award of the Oscar and also managed at the same time to dispel any suggestion that ‘motivational mapping’ was merely metaphorical. He actually produced a motivational map…… They do exist.

Double inductee Mike Skinner, Illustrated the value of his services by staging a selfie with Joshua Ayettey. Spoiler alert….. This won him the Oscar.

Paul Corrigan was suggesting the installation of heat pumps to offset the onset of a Third World War and rising oil prices.

I continue to be slightly disturbed by Blake Hammond’s current presentations. He even managed to bad mouth household appliances by calling them ‘dumb’. Slightly judgmental I felt but it does illustrate what he can do for you.

Sally Waters is currently upgrading one of her fragrances and making it more oriental…. Good news for lovers of sushi. And talking about upgrading, Sarah Smith is currently helping a company set up its systems which is something that I can a testify to the way in which she is helping TM Law. and talking about oriental Scott Griffiths has recently set up a website in Japanese….. Even better news for lovers of sushi

Did you know that half of all house fires originated with electrical faults. Dave Roberts however is on hand to make sure this doesn’t happen.

Did you know that the court system appears to Terry Maylin to be broken and that certainly a layman trying to cope with the vagaries that currently exist without the help of a lawyer would be foolish.

Jane Malyon was emphasising the importance of Tea to the English Cream Tea Company. She was urging us to eschew the teabag and try loose tea blend bags. A Teapot with an infuser is something else she suggests. Although we always pay attention to Auntie Jane, there are certain people I know who do not own a teapot but drink lots of tea… This might just be one battle too far.

10-Minute Presentation by Aidan Squire

The advantage of not using a TV screen is that you’ve got a desk to sit behind when giving your presentation. I saw that as something of an advantage as I used my time to give an overview of the sort of referrals I am looking for as a consultant for TM Law and give those members who have recently joined what would be good referral opportunities for me. Everybody seemed stay awake and all referrals will be greatly received. It was also comforting to know that the winner of the speaker’s prize was someone who could do justice to the bottle of wine that I produced… Mr Corrigan!

A great meeting again this morning. Thank you Scott for the ed slot. It was good to hear how EBF came about. An interesting 10 minute slot from one of our legal team, Aiden, there is so much he can help us with, both in business and personal. We may have been low on numbers today, but the buzz in the air did not melt away. Great to see everyone – see you all next week!

A really interesting meeting this week (much like every other week really). It was helpful to understand the EBF origin story, and to hear about the many services that Aidan can offer. A deserving Oscar winner too, well done Mike!

Great meeting. We had a great experience working with Aidan. He handled the Power of Attorney for my in-laws, and we were so grateful to have everything in order when we needed it most. The foundations he put in place made a difficult situation much easier to manage
