This week we finished up with 25 and if there wasn’t exactly an end of term atmosphere there was a general feeling of optimism about the live meetings that are recommencing next week.
The Performance League
With one week gone John Freeman is out front with 52 points.
Education Presentation
Once again delivered by Ben Golding himself. His theme was the difference between hearing as a passive verb and listening is an active one. Is emphasised the importance of members listening to fellow members in order to fully understand their requirements and enable referrals to be made. There were lots of tips but at the end of the day it is clear that as members of EBF we should make a positive effort to listen to what our fellow members describe in the 60 Second round, 10-minute presentations, and generally in conversations and one to one meetings.
The 60 (90) Second Round
From next week this will genuinely be back to 60 seconds but this week we luxuriated in the freedom of an extra 30 seconds
Jane Malyon was awarding the Oscar this week and she talked about Edutainment. teaching people how to mind their pees and ques just in case you have to take tea with the Queen. I think Jane would rather like to ensure that if you took tea with her that you regarded her in loco Her Majesty.
Best of the rest included Kieran Peaty emphasising the benefit of engaging him for initial advice about projects in relation to residential premises.
Sarah Steele has been taken over in the nicest possible way.
Nick Cooke has given a bungalow owner advice that his bungalow has perfectly good foundations but it’s the ground underneath them that is soft. Underpinning or knockdown and start again were the two options. Sounded like a bad news; bad news scenario.
Brian Painter had previously told us of the lady who had cut down his cigarette consumption per week from 60 to 40. Well, she hasn’t now had a smoke for two weeks. This sounds more like a good news; good news scenario
Neil Bellham told of a recent order from well-established and prestigious networking group. It starts next week for a couple of weeks. Don’t forget the black pudding, Neil!
Toby Acton was en route to somewhere. The master of the deep dive appeared through his backdrop to be in deep space. Here’s hoping you get back safely for next week Toby.
Ben Golding urged us to recommend him to other people. Getting a relation or your bestie on board can earn you money.
Stuart Smallcombe made the case for recording telephone calls. It promotes honesty, it’s good for training and it’s not that expensive. For any further details you’ll have to speak to him further
Vincent Goode went all Postman Pat on us. He championed the posted letter. The significance of this retro approach to communication is that he can prepare exceedingly good Letterheads
Paul Booth was the man of mixed backdrops this week, the highlight of which was an ostrich burying its head in the sand to illustrate the types of clients that he could help. All tush and no trousers!!
Paul Dulieu muddied the waters with a blues rendition of his 90 seconds in the style of Muddy Waters and Scott Griffiths finally cracked it with a useful piece on email marketing. If you’ve got it, flaunt it. He was the worthy winner of the Oscar this week
Synergy Team Meeting
Paul’s Finance Group get together was it the George and Dragon in Mountnessing and he mustered five members. As more and more of us return to the workplace the numbers will inevitably go up and a new venue apparently may be necessary.
Questions & Answers Session
It appears that a sizable number of members had listened attentively to the 90 Second presentation and several questions were raised that provided interesting answers and a reasonable number of referrals and testimonials brought us to the end what hopefully will be our last zoom meeting of the year
Look forward to seeing you live at the Cricket Club next week
Interesting ed slot Ben Ben, it certainly helps if you actually listen rather than just hear what people say. Well done on your Oscar Scott.
looking forward to getting back to the proper breakfast meeting next week and to Neils great breakfast!
Great final zoom meeting!!
A very worthy Oscar winner too!!
Though I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone face to face – though very excited about Neal’s breakfast!!!
Thanks Aidan for the blog. Great meeting poppets and lovely to see you again!
Good meeting all, I’m sure Ben’s Ed slotnwas useful but wasn’t really paying attention.
Look forward to seeing everyone next week
Excellent meeting folks, and I loved the new lyrics to an old classic Paul D.
Congrats to Scott on this weeks Oscar award and I’m so glad that we are reverting to face to face from next week.
Great zoom meeting. Well done Scott for winning the Oscar and it was great to see Emma joining us again let’s hope she fills out a membership form. Ben Ben great ed slot too. See you all in person next Thursday.
Thank you all for a worthwhile meeting. Goodbye Zoom, hello Big Breakfast. Also to give Paul D a hearty pat on the back for yet another brave 90 seconds. I think the only option for him now is his rendition of the Full Monty…
I’d never heard of Zoom before the pandemic but whoever invented it, well done. We went out on a high. good shoe everyone
