Still with a depleted leadership team and Scott acting as Chairman and Education and development officer and Terry standing in for Scott were a smaller than usual but select band.
The Performance League
There is only 40 points or so separating 7th from 1st Place in the league so there is all to play for and well done to those 7 who have amassed a decent number of points and could win the performance league at the end of May.
Education Presentation
A last minute stand in for Neil, Terry stepped in with an impromptu education slot which hopefully encouraged members to put more into EBF on the basis that the more you put in the more you will get out of it. Rant over!
The 60 Second Round
Shannon standing in for Clara last week’s Oscar winner kicked off the round with each person nominating the next.
Of note in the 60 Second round was Vince who showed us the many ways of folding a leaflet – who knew there were so many ways. Leann amazed us by telling us that there are over 150,000 shades of white! Tina gave us 10 reasons why you should consider employing a P.A. John Hammond continues to be appalled at the lack of maintenance of fire alarms – a legal requirement that is frequently ignored and implored us to recommend him if we see a fire alarm panel in premises showing a fault or not on at all. Toby is apparently branching out into marriage guidance as he has had a few couples in business who are proving challenging and he has been mediating. Scott reminded us that he has three levels of email he can supply clients from basic simple to as complex as you want and finally Chris reported an amazing deal to Croatia in October which sounds very tempting!
Shannon awarded the Oscar to Brian as it is his birthday !
This weeks statistics and points of note
In my ‘standing in’ role, I had already announced the leader of the Performance League and at this juncture I was able also to report that this week had yielded 35 referrals this month so far and in excess of £51,000 worth of business passed this month so far.
10-minute presentation by Andy O’Neill
Scott standing in for Ben went on to announce the presenter of the 10 minute presentation which this week was by one of our newest members the groups water hygiene specialist.
Andy explained the origins of Legionella which was only identified in 1976 in London but since then has been a prominent feature of deaths caused by the bacterial which if it is inhaled is usually fatal but not so if you drink infected water.
He gave us plenty of scary examples of where it is lurking including in home showers that are not used frequently and even garden hoses. Business premises most of which have water supplies need to make sure their items that provide water, particularly showers and the like are used regularly so that the deadly legionella is not allowed to be sprayed out when the item is used after a lay off.
His presentation was very effective and we can now see how to obtain referrals for Andy and the range of users is very wide indeed.
A whole host of questions showed how engaging the presentation had been and it was a credit to Andy.
Referrals and Testimonials
We had a very fruitful referrals and testimonials round with plenty of referrals and money passed between the members and some very good testimonials, not least of which John Hammond who had been talking to Andy our 10 minute presenter and had four or five referrals for him as a result !
Ben Ben Golding who is recuperating well at home and we all wished him well.
Paul Booth announced a synergy team meeting next Tuesday at the George and Dragon Mountnessing at 4-20 and will send out an email reminder.
A very positive meeting attended by very positive people.
Great first presentation from Andy. Quite scary actually but helpful so that I can look out for opportunities to introduce you. Really enjoyed the meeting, and of course Happy Birthday Brian.
A double whammy this week from Terry the Rottweiler. A really informative ed slot, and a typo-free blog. Thank you Andy for giving us an insight into Legionnaire’s, sobering stuff for sure. Well done to Brian for winning the Oscar. I said WELL DONE BRIAN!!!!
Fantastic presentation Andy. Both really interesting an told us exactly why people need your business and what types of businesses are most likely to! Perfect job!

well done Brian winning the oscar because it’s your birthday!
An excellent reminder from Terry about the importance of being present at your networking group.
A very interesting and sobering 10 minute presentation from Andy. Who would have thought your garden tap could be a killer! 😁
I now know who I can be recommending Andy to.
Happy birthday to Brian.
See you all next week.
Not sure if Terry mentioned commenting on the blog but just in case…
I’ve spent the morning putting the fear of god in to my colleagues after the 10 minute presentation, we’ll all be demanding their Legionella report every establishment we visit. If they haven’t got one we know where to send them!
A very insightful, if scary, first 10 minutes Andy. -well done

A small but beautifully formed meeting..Good ed slot from Terry, We should not only think about EBF on a Thursday. A fascinating presentation from Andy, more danger lurking in the home. Thank you all for your kind Birthday wishes, telegram, you’ll soon be here!
Enjoy the holiday weekend.
Brilliant first presentation from Andy was fascinating and scary. Great Ed Slot from Terry and a happy birthday to Brian. See you all next week also good luck Terry on your bike ride to Scotland.
What a meeting. Great 60-second rounds from Vince with his different types of leaflet fold to Leann with the number of shades of white. The scaring session started with Blake and stocking up on the Wayfayer ration packs not only for DofE but just to be prepared as per https://prepare.campaign.gov.uk/ . ( Chicken Tikkas & rice is brilliant) .Then Brian ith all the poisons in cigarettes. Followed by Andy’s ten minutes on Legionnaires’ Disease. But is was a very enjoyable meeting. If you are a local buisness you should come along
Really interesting (and slightly scary!) presentation from Andy. Great job! See y’all in a couple of weeks!
