Smallks is writing this… I wouldn’t want you to get all the way to the end giving somebody else the credit
The mornings are certainly drawing in, but that didn’t stop 27 members cheerfully heading towards Calcott Hall Farm or more specifically their wonderful Café to enjoy some rather excellent coffee and some equally dazzling company… Okay, that probably a bit of a stretch but the coffee is pretty darn good.
With considerably more daylight at the top end of the table it became apparent our leader, Lord Grand Chief Justice Squire had been called off to some minor court case…proroguing something or another…or more likely he was in in The lake District. Either way it meant we had Vincent Goode which is great, only he’d bought his book of Dad jokes…which is bad.
I did take some notes, but I lost them, or more likely they were stolen by a fellow member of the naughty corner but here’s what I remember. Whoever is leading the performance league has 155 points, well done you, whoever you are. It was Marcells’s birthday who seems to look younger every year, it must be the diamonds. If you’re other half is getting on a bit, ask Marcelle to supply you with a nice piece of Jewellery, it clearly works wonders, your other half with thank you – trust me.
David Education slot was about the importance of using the referral round for its proper purpose, the giving and receiving of valuable business between our members, its not a time to “add a special offer” to your 60 seconds – behave yourself!
Saj kicked off the 60 second round as he was awarding the Oscar, stating he was on the lookout for men behaving badly (not for the first time). The Oscar winner goes first so they can fully concentrate on everyone else’s 60 seconds. Despite that he still cocked it up, Ben-Ben Golding clearly had a Cashback Piggy but Saj missed it. He also missed Howard Bullocks rather fantastic impression of Michael Caine but then Mr Caine does already have two real Oscars I suppose (both for best supporting actor, Hannah and Her Sisters 1987 & The Cider House Rules, 2000…If memory serves).
Ashley Bermange handed out a few giveaways of some of his branded clothing merchandise which was a very generous gesture. We also had two business updates and announcements too. Dean Caldon of Grace & Rose estate agents explained how they are now so busy on the business of selling houses that they will no longer be actively looking for rental engagements, allowing them to fully concentrate on the sales market and getting their clients the best possible price for their homes. We also heard from Dan Wright, for what was to be the last time, Dan is heading up to The Big Smoke to run his own FX Trading floor, his dream job. Its always sad to see people leave but that sadness is diminished when that person is leaving for the right reasons. Marcelle won the Oscar over some stiff competition, she’s a regular winner as her 60 seconds are always well thought out, visual and well presented. Well done Marcelle. But Ben had a Cashback Pig.. Just saying.
I think I’m right in saying there is only one guy been doing this longer than me, and it was his turn to deliver what must be about his 20th 10 minute presentation that I’ve seen. But as always Scott from Eseyo delivers a clear, clean, interesting and informative presentation about (what turned out to be) a fictional customer of his who needed a website for their Bonsai Tree business. From full e-commerce websites to simple one or two page reference sites, Scott’s your man.
See you next week.
Kind Regards
Great meeting with lots of laughs and bad jokes! Brilliant presentation by Scott explaining how he looks after his customers!
Shame Saj missed the Cashback Piggy 🐷 🤣
Looking forward to seeing you all next meeting 😀
Shocking oversight Saj, missing the cashback pig- armed with my new catapult i wont be missing any of the piggy s again 🙂
Great meeting and well done Scott on the way you made your 10 minutes a bit different.
Another Fab meeting . Scott’s presentation was so good . Vince’s jokes get worse. Great place to do business .
Just back from the beach and having a cocktail. Sorry to have missed Vinnie’s jokes. Good blog Stuart.
Best blog I’ve read all day!
Stellar presentation from Scott. The attention to detail on his fictional customer was brilliant!
Well done to Vince, sitting in The Chair. That first joke was awful and they got steadily worse from there. I wouldn’t want it any other way!!!
Great blog, from Stu and Ben I do apologise for missing the cash back piggy. Wonderful case study from Scott, actually reminded me of the process which we went through.
See everyone next week and Stuart I found your notes…
A printer walks into a bar… thank you, I’m here all week. Good luck with your new venture Dan
Well done Scott and Vincent. Good Luck Dan. Great meeting and good attendance.
Sorry I had to miss this one folks. Well done to Vincent, Scott and Marcelle but also to Stuart for taking on this task.
Well remembered Stu , great blog. Cant believe Brentwood Bonsai weren’t a real company , I was on my way round there. A very good presentation Scott and I can vouch that you do exactly what you said you do as I am very proud of the website you produced for us. Sorry to see you go Dan ,but fully understand the opportunity you are taking and I wish you all the very best.
