There were 22 of us eventually.Ā Ā John Freeman was a welcome addition and Alan Moller was looking relaxed on his Sofa.Ā Ā He is our own superhero “Sofaman”.
The Performance League
As this is the first meeting of a new month, last monthās winner was announced.Ā Ā It was Paul Booth, followed by Richard Reed and Terry Maylin.
Education Presentation
Simon Essex gave a very intelligent assessment of the effects of LockDown, in particular mental health issues. We should all, particularly as people running businesses, recognise symptoms of stress. EBF, as a group, offers business support to its members and our weekly meeting produces banter as well as a way in which you can seek to sustain your business.Ā Ā Thanks, Simon.
The 60 Second Round
Dean Caldon was awarding the Oscar and started the ball rolling.
Vincent Goode, Mayor Gants Hill Village, apparently has the credentialsĀ Ā to run for Mayor of Calais.Ā Ā His presentation was in French with English sub titles.Ā Ā As the man following the donkey said, āJe suis que je suisĀ Ā mais je ne suis pasĀ Ā que je suisāā¦.over to you Vince.
Sarah Steel has been presenting Lunch and Learn Seminars and referred to an app that facilitated sharing unwanted food.
Paul Dulieu was celebrating the first anniversary of his business.Ā Ā He appears relatively unscathed.
Richard Reed was much more upbeat than of late.Ā Ā New enquiries and a mention of the Maldives set us all off dreaming.
Howard Bullock doesnāt want much from usā¦.only owners of firms that have increased their annual profit from Ā£100,000 to Ā£3millionā¦..Ā Ā lets see what we can do.
Toby Acton suggested that in Q4 we should look ahead and plan. Acton Man is always worth listening to.
It was as if John Freeman had never been away.Ā Ā He is looking for little jobsā¦quick in and out.
Terry Maylin has not been meditating; he has been mediating.Ā Ā There is a difference.
Simon Essex reported on a successful day of filming last Thursday.Ā Ā The presentation is today so keep them crossed.Ā Ā He was also advocating cost-effective gifts as a thank you to staff by employers.
AND the Oscar went to Sofaman for his relaxed performance.
10-minute Questions and Answers session
Our usual members 10-minute presentation was replaced by a Q & A which was of high quality; both questions and answers.Ā Ā The referrals round followed and then it was all over.
