The first day of Winter when ice had to be scrapped from our windscreens prior to setting out. Throughout the meeting, a dark, bleak and dull vista from the low cloud cover and the chill…. but were we downhearted?!!! Nooooooo. Although it was cold outside it was nice and warm in our venue and everyone was in good cheer. We had 22 members and 2 guests.
The Performance League
Current leaders are joint; Kevin Radford and Scott Griffiths. With Kevin Radford missing this week he won’t be leading next week. 5 members have managed to achieve more than 200 points though so far this month.
Education Presentation
David Plumley’s theme was “the effective use of time”. When things are busy, set your priorities and plan your obligations to more effectively deal with your workload. When things are slow you should be catching up with paper work, chasing clients and even looking at training. David’s summary was you should give yourself “wiggle room”. Now is he right? “wiggle” or “wriggle”. Give me an indication of your views in the comments you make to this Blog.
The 60 Second Round
Marcelle Saad tried to inject some colour into the proceedings. The “pink legacy” the “pink Legion “, this is a pink diamond worth around $58 Million dollars. Marcelle can get you pink stones cheaper than this.
Richard Reed, I must not have been listening at the right time. I was very confused about journeys to Los Angeles and to New Zealand by New Zealand Airways. Great offers that will be opened and almost closed immediately at 10.00 am when they come available. Did anybody take the punt on buying them with a view to onward sale?
Terry Maylin, who was due to do his 10-minute presentation talked about TM Law’s website and the transparent information now contained thereon in relation to our costs.
More good news stories hit us. Ellen Beckenham has now got a confirmed job in London 5 days a week for her company, congratulations Ellen! Matt Barry talked about Thanksgiving and made mention of Michele and her new baby. Good news! Just when you start to feel that the world is all going well, Rupert Miles explained his black attire…he was going to a funeral. Good news for all those who like exploring Essex, Stuart Smallcombe went to West Mersey and declared there was no need for VOIP, thank goodness for that.
The Mayor of Gants Hill was showing us personalised key rings and demonstrating that size does matter (of the key ring).
Brian Painter was not his usual gory self, but a lady with a daughter at university whose anxiousness was brought on by her mother’s expectations for her upcoming exams was suffering from IBS and this was solved by our Pilgrim. He sort of gave the air of one who thought this was easy peasy. Almost immediately after he had finished his 60 seconds John Freeman left for the loo. Why don’t you have a word with him Brian, I would like to consider this as a referral if there is some mileage.
Allan Moller gets some rather strange clients. This week his customer wanted to illuminate his barbecue. Alan apparently gave him a light to practice with…very illuminating.
So who won the Oscar. Tina was the stand out 60 seconds for Dean; she demonstrated receiving telephone calls from various members in the room which confirmed her organisational skills and in a reassuring way deal with them in a way that should engender confidence. The demonstration was both amusing, slightly chaotic but more than enough to win her the Oscar. Well done Tina.
This weeks statistics and points of note
- 20 Members present and two visitors both of whom expressed interest to join
- £7000.00 plus of new business passed
- 18 new referrals
- Scott Griffiths and Kevin Radford are in the joint lead in the Performance League
- Tina Walker won the Oscar
10-minute presentation by Terry Maylin
This weeks 10 minute presentation was Terry Maylin. He talked about personal injury claims, avoided tales of beating people over the head to get them out of houses and generally illustrated the difficulty and importance of conducting personal injury cases.
He was fairly restrained in the description of certain Injuries he has encountered. Heaven knows what Brian Painter would have made of some of his case histories.
Many of the members made it clear they had cause to be grateful to Terry for the effort that he made on their behalf in various legal matters and it was a well presented 10 minutes.
Next Weeks Meeting
Next week, although partly valedictory we have Rupert Miles presentation to look forward to with a slightly otherwise shortened meeting. Let’s have a good turnout.
Even thought it’s was very cold. Great meeting and excellent 10 minutes.
A very good meeting once again and a great ten minutes from Terry, his website looks fantastic too and it also has live chat but no handsome face to go with it. See everyone next week.
Great 10 minutes Terry and super meeting
Sorry Terry for missing your presentation. I was up in “The Smoke!” See you all next week.
Terry’s 10 minutes went all too quickly, t’was very interesting! Who would have thought that such a gentle looking man could turn in to a beast when chasing debts? Just to be safe, do I owe you anything, Terry?
Great meeting again, Terry’s 10 minutes really showed his capabilities and his drive, see you all next week 🙂
Very informative meeting and good fun too.
Excellent meeting with a good turn out and two visitors, who would be foolish to even think about other networking groups!! Very informative 10mts from Terry this week to show how and why he is so good at what he does.
Excellent turnout for my 10 minutes, thanks for your kind words folks, looking forward to seeing you all next week
Excellent 10-minutes from Terry as always. TM Law has helped us a number of times in the past, and we’ve always been incredibly impressed with the quality of advice, care and attention given by Terry and Aidan. Great meeting…it’s starting to feel a bit like Christmas…well done Tina on the Oscar win too!
Well done Terry on a great 10 minutes, good attendance and 2 visitors too, see you all next week, nearly christmas……😁
