Ice scraped off the windscreen this morning, clear sky on arrival, 18 members present. Not sufficiently warm to bring out the granola gang. Only Sarah Smith who had her usual granola without granola. We did all have the benefits of orders being name tagged which provided the added benefits of  being able to double as a toothpick.

Performance League

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that I am leading with 236 points. So excited was I by the announcement that I failed to make a note who the other runners and riders were but as the list was passed round no doubt you are all fully aware of the running order. It will undoubtedly change next week.

Education Slot

A timely intervention by Sarah Smith regarding how to grow the group. She firmly put her head above the parapet as a point of focus to help us identify relevant vacant seats, potential occupants thereof and how to collect that information. She quite rightly pointed out that it is an obligation of all of us to do their best to grow the group. The mantra must remain, the more bums on seats, the more referrals. Thank you, Sarah.

60-Second Presentation Round

Mike Skinner, last week’s Oscar winner was inspired to theme the round to ‘films’. This request was honoured by all members in trying to get their messages over. Those messages were as always mixed and varied. Mike was urging boldness and confidence in presentation of your image. Paul Corrigan was diverted by the Maldon Mud Race. The shower facility that he provides has been doubled in size and provides both hot and cold water.

Clara Downton looked suitably harassed after a challenging week or so in the light of our so-called allies Third World War aspirations.

Stuart Smallcombe, learning of Terry Maylin’s holiday in the Maldives, cautioned mobile phone use whilst abroad.

Best play on words came from Paul Dulieu claiming that he was there for weddings and a funeral….. Priceless!

Most useful contribution to society must have been Dave Roberts, wiring a wine store.

The Oscar winner however for a film referenced tour de force was Jane Malyon. Not a mention off scones, clotted cream, and jam….. Oh well, maybe next week!

Meeting Secretaries Report

March is continuing to look like a good month. 14 referrals this week and business recorded of £13,000 to be added to the £44,000 already recorded last week.

10-Minute Presentation by Paul Dulieu

This week Paul Dulieu explained to us how his career led him finally to celebrancy. I for one needed no convincing as to his aptitude and empathy and as to how he can be everything you would want to get you through the Funeral process. I’m sure all members were after his presentation fully appreciative of this……And he also does Weddings! In particular I will find his Funeral arrangements pro forma a useful addition when I take instructions from clients in relation to their wills.

Such was the beauty of the morning that we adjourned to the rear area for Jane’s synergy team meeting which was well attended as always and stimulating as always!

It was a great meeting today, and I especially liked Mike’s 60 second theme, which made it even more fun.

If anyone would like to help with the outreach of recruitment of visitors (if you haven’t brought a visitor in the last 12 months for example) please let me know. It shouldn’t be a huge investment of time.
Thanks!
