There were 21 of us present. Good news in relation to those numbers is that Kory Martin is now back with us and we were visited by Danny Moody, a security consultant.

Performance League

Only one week in and Scott Griffiths is out front with 87 points followed by John Hammond on 78 and Stuart Smallcombe on 69.

Education Slot

Jane Malyon, jet lagged and operating as if it were 2:00 AM had nonetheless thoroughly prepared for this presentation with bingo cards highlighting the many and various aspects of EBF. From Sharon to Synergy, Referrals to Reliability, we all took part and somebody won!

60-Second Presentation Round

He featured in the performance league, as the Oscar winner he was adjudicating today and you will hear later about his excellent 10-minute presentation. A darkened room and a wet towel will be welcoming Stuart Smallcombe on his return to the office. In the meantime, he was besieged by reflective presentations. Reflective on the year gone by and the year in prospect.

Toby Acton was first up with the suggestion that having reviewed the previous year we now set out our goals for the year to come. Workout your rest and recreation time first and then plan how you’re going to fund it. Matt Barry picked up on this and suggested that when we look forward to the New Year, we considered our marketing budget.

Ben Golding did not miss an opportunity on his recent visit to hospital, when he chatted up the nurse who was doing his procedure and he was able to advise how she could supplement her National Health income as she approached the festive season. Inspired by the festive season Jane Malyon was talking brownies. Obviously, this was aimed at the rather chocolatey temptation that she produces but also a troop of them who visited her Guinness record-breaking tea party…….. What jet lag!

No 60 second round is complete without the mention of AI. Blake Hammond of course was explaining how he could use it to enable you to sort out your emails and other such mundane tasks whereas Catherine Foley, as always sceptical, was in embracing mode as to how she can supplement AI and for her flexibility and practicality she won the Oscar.

10-Minute Presentation by Stuart Smallcombe

Stuart Smallcombe was presenting this week and a very slick production it was too. It was an expert use of the television to outline the details of his business but his focus this week was to explain to group largely made up of of luddites exactly how an Internet system worked by setting up a mock series of cables, telephones. routers and everything else that you need to help us understand what it is that he can help us with. Highly entertaining!!

Referrals and Testimonials Round

The referrals and testimonials round benefited from the enthusiasm generated by Stuart’s presentation and with next week’s Christmas meeting in mind we departed into the sunshine with the the prospect of the run in to Christmas.

It was a really great meeting. There was so much energy and laughter and had a real “end of term” feel. I half expected board games to start appearing and a Christmas film to be put on the TV! Jane, your Ed slot was lots of fun and Stuart, your 10 mins was really informative! Have good weeks, one and all, and see you next week!

Great meeting this morning with a real ‘end of term’ energy! Stuart’s practical demo with the cables and router setup was excellent—it really demystified how it all connects in a way that clicked. And Jane, kudos for the Bingo game; such a creative (and fun) spin on the Ed slot despite the jet lag. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Christmas jumpers next week
