No mention of anything GDPR related is to be mentioned during the meeting, as we are all frankly sick to death of hearing about privacy policy updates and email opt-in confirmations. The only exception to this is if someone has any pirate themed jokes…
Guest Blog written by Terry Maylin at TM LAW LIMITED on 17th May 2018.
19 members present and one guest Jon Wakely. Scott Griffiths was back on the leadership table and Terry Maylin stood in for David Plumley as Education Officer and Brian Painter stood in for Aidan Squire. The naughty corner was however back in full swing complete with terrible jokes ( a leftover from last week? ).
Birthdays were announced for Brian Painter (Wednesday) and Matt Barry (Today), and then this quickly cycled around the room where it appeared that it is also Alan Shaws birthday today, that Jo Eastwood had her birthday last week, that Vince has a birthday every year, and that Paul Booth’s aunty Delilah has a birthday in early May too. Many happy returns to everyone.
The Performance League
Well done to Saj who has forced his way up to third and is hot on the heels of second place person Matt Barry with Paul Booth back in his usual place at the top, still plenty of time to topple him.
Education Presentation
Paul Booth kindly gave an impromptu Education slot in place of anonymous – no doubt more points going the way of Paul .
The 60 Second Round
The 60 second round was kicked off by Marcelle Saad who shared with us that re-modelling of old jewellery is now very popular and a great way of keeping old diamonds and stones in new settings.
Alan Shaw told of a new type of meeting with planners in a “little booth”. Not sure it is legal or not!
Jo Eastwood whetted our tastebuds with a vivid description of a new “ blood orange” Gin which is even better if you rub the rind of an orange around the rim of the glass!
Jill Willis outlined the whole range of different services that her company offer including lots of email marketing despite the “G” phrase!
Terry Maylin is looking for landlords who want to remove tenants and get it right first time rather than try and do it themselves and end up doing it twice!
Matt Barry gave an outline of his team of which he is one and who all have different skillsets to enable his company to offer an all round marketing and branding service.
Scott Griffiths is keeping an eye out for Scott Griffiths news and shared with us that one of his namesakes took 3 wickets for Pembroke County Cricket club this week!
Syd Barrett told a joke which was so bad we wont repeat it as it was a week late!
Stuart Smallcombe also chose to share a joke with us about the pirate who is dealing with GDPRRRRRRRR( it was funny the first time)
Richard Reed has a great offer to Vegas for 5 days for £899 pp contact him for more details…
Paul Booth finished off the round by telling another bad joke about mooses in Sweden and not letting them drive!
The Oscar (awarded by Vince Goode) was won by Jo Eastwood for making us salivate at the thought of blood orange gin!
This weeks statistics and points of note
The business passed so far this week was just over £10,000 and there were 18 referrals passed today which is great for the numbers present. 19 members present and one guest
10-minute presentation by Kelly Walker
Kelly finally got her chance which she took to explain to us what her company Finance 1 do.
It was very well done and we now know that it is not just cars but also asset finance for machinery plant etc.
On the vehicle side Kelly explained some of the different types of deals available including the purchase of new or second-hand vehicles and of course lease contracts. A thoroughly professional and competent 10 minutes so we now know what type of referrals to look out for!
Referrals and testimonials
A speedy session of referrals and with a report on the latest synergy meeting, the meeting came to an end.
excellent 10 minutes Kelly, really well done. Very important ed slot from Paul too on KYC. Well done on another great meeting everyone, see you all next week 🙂
Sorry to have missed the meeting and Kelly’s presentation. If it’s any consolation, the Conference was as dull as dishwater!
Just to set the record straight – it was my Birthday a couple of weeks ago, my Mum’s the week before, my Auntie Barbara’s the day after mine and my daughter’s next week. In the absence of Howard, good to see the naughty corner on form. Well done to Kelly.
I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger coming out of church the other day. I said to him “What’s your favourite Christian festival”. He said “It has to be Easter baby”
Well done Terry on a fine piece of bloggy literature. Not quite as eloquent as the chap who did last week’s guest blog but nonetheless, you captured the spirit of the meeting. I’m not a big fan of Switzerland, but their flag is a huge plus…
cheeky boy!
although low on numbers – good meeting and fab photos Anna Marie
Great 10 minutes Kelly and you really got across well the different types of things you can finance as well as cars, good meeting see you all next week!
Greast first 10mts by Kelly who showcased her business and expertise perfectly, well done.
P.S.: It was 5nts San Francisco + 5nts Las Vegas + direct flights throughout and all for just £899pp!! Don’t undersell it…
Happy birthday to all concerned, congratulations Kelly on your 1st 10 minutes, see you all next week
An excellent 10 minutes by Kelly…boy does she know her stuff! What a professional. Great meeting, and excellent new pictures thanks to Anna Marie, looking forward to seeing them put to use on the website.
Well done ,Terry for a blog in plain English and not solicitor’s legal speak! A fine 10 minutes from Kelly. I bought gallon of correction fluid…………….big mistake! See you next week.
BTW, guess who should have delivered the education slot? No names but he wasn’t sitting a million miles from me!
Excellent meeting, particularly impressed with Kelly’s 1st 10 minute presentation.
Sorry to have missed this week’s meeting, I had a blood test, that required me to fast beforehand, I couldn’t really do breakfast & business beforehand, I know Kelly’s abilities all to well, due to discussions on a future van purchase, so I’m sure she did a great job on her 10min presentation.
Great blog Terry, I’m with Alan, but I did enjoy Vince’s too, its good to know there is plenty of talent to fill the slot (not the shoes of our Aiden 😊) when Aiden is not around.
See you all next week 😉
Jury still out on the pics 😊
only kidding, they look great Anna well done!
Great 10 minutes Kelly another good meeting – see you all next week. Enjoy the bank holiday from Tina Turner
