A good turnout of 22 members was further enhanced by the presence of 3 visitors. What’s not to like!
The Performance League
Mike Skinner is out front with 99 points. He is closely followed by last month’s winner, Terry Maylin and then Scott Griffiths.
Education Presentation
Vincent Goode was at the helm this week and his subject was the closing words that should be used to put an end to a letter or e-mail. I’m afraid I show my age if I show surprise this was regarded as a useful and necessary piece of information giving, but it was and so I must remain his humble servant.
The 60 Second Round
Reminders of one’s mortality are often hard to come to terms with but I had just about recovered in time to herald Mike Skinner as the current Oscar holder and the first presenter. He urged us to revisit and refresh our websites with his particular skill set in mind. What was also refreshing is that Neil Bellham will be immersed in chilly jams for the next week or so with the launch of this aspect of his business at an upcoming Christmas market in Chelmsford.
Brian Painter normally operates within a 10-mile radius of Brentwood. Nonetheless, he is anticipating a new client who is looking to travel 3,750 miles to have our Pilgrim cure him of his smoking addiction. Worth every mile of the journey as well as giving Brian the opportunity of claiming an international identity for his hypnotherapy. In a similarly upbeat fashion Ben Golding followed Brian advancing Utility Warehouse’s ‘Bill Busting Boost and the other wonderful energy-saving schemes that are being offered. Whilst we are on the subject of savings, James Humphreys’ insurance package for a business that runs vans was an eyewatering £8000. If you’ve got a van; James is your man.
Terry Maylin was in a positive form declaring that he will sue anyone for anything. If you have music or information available whilst people hold for you to come to the phone Stuart Smallcombe can do anything, including specific Christmas messages.
Toby Acton showed an exotic side to his business. He deployed his motivational map making to assist someone who had been approached by a head-hunter. You don’t get more exotic than that. But Jane Malyon was able to report something unusual. She is apparently in the habit of wearing her EBF badge in supermarkets. She obviously dropped it and some Good Samaritan had researched our group and forwarded it to our Venue. Could this be the beginning of a way of attracting visitors?
The Mayor of Gant’s Hill Village is looking for dentists but it has nothing to do with the state of his teeth or gums. He is much more interested in their printing needs.
Mike Skinner, after much deliberation, made the award of the Oscar a short journey by getting into the Christmas spirit displayed by Stewart Smallcombe who was sitting next to him.
This weeks statistics and points of note
For the first week of this month Scott Griffiths had something positive to report, namely 24 referrals and recorded business of £16,000+
Synergy Team Report
Paul Booth chaired a very successful meeting on Tuesday of this week at the George and Dragon. 7 present and an exceptionally lively meeting.
10-minute presentation by John Freeman
His bio sheet answered 7 questions with the answer sand to each one of them. Sometimes of Tenerife this was perhaps not entirely unexpected. The content was positive and effective. He set off around the room getting individual members to confirm how he has assisted them over the years. A useful idea which was made doubly effective because of its spontaneity. A great pitch which also more than illustrated how useful some of the groups soft benefits are as he and his fellow members described how each had benefitted from the others willingness to go beyond simply dealing with business that had been referred. This coupled with the referrals and testimonials round produced a good illustration for our guests of the benefits of membership.
Congratulations to all on the great meeting.
