Following our business networking meeting at Warley park Golf Glub, our members took advantage of the Golf Clubs putting green and organised a mini-tournament.
Each members, or should I say “player” in the loosest of terms, was awarded 60 points at the start of the competition, and then lost a point for each shot they they took.
Carefully working their way along the eight putting holes, I personally spotted a few holes-in-one (by me included!) but please dont expect a round of drinks at the bar for these. I also spotted a few three and maybe even four-putts.
Once these holes were completed a special Bonus hole was in play. I single shot to try and aim your ball through a slim gate of holes worth bonus points from 5 to 25 additional points.
I have to say that even considering the varying standard of putting, it all came down to the bonus round. Scores are below and note that each of these scores will be added as points on the performance league for the appropriate members!
- Scott – 47 points
- Terry – 43 points
- Aidan – 63 points
- Paul – 57 points
- Tina – 57 points
- Dean – 73 points
- Jason – 57 points
- Richard – 46
- Kevin Radford – 58 points
- Ed – 48 points
The winner therefore – Dean Caldon
What I did not expect was the possibility of a lost ball. Well organised Scott, must do it again. Only about another half hour added to the meeting and as you must all have observed, no skill needed to partake
Good fun – especially seeing Tina in the rough !!!
I was !!##!** (rubbish) – well done the bandit (Dean).
What can I say, clearly must be beginners luck being the newest EBF member and believe me, I’ve never putted like that on the golf course before! Was good fun and well done Scott for making the effort to organise it.
