Continued good attendance with 24 members present two guests Tony and Dean from affordable roofing and also Dan who is the tech genius working with Tim Heard and a guest Chairman in the form of Howard Bullock.
The Performance League
Well done to Saj Sreedharan who is narrowly leading the performance league for the month of May with Scott Griffiths and John Freeman close behind.
Education Presentation
David Plumley explained that we need to devote the appropriate amount of time to our EBF membership but in balance with the rest of our lives, work, family and socialising.
The 60 Second Round
The 60-second round was a very lively affair, some of the highlights being: Holly standing in for Anna telling us of the glowing testimonials for a wedding they did where they went that little bit further to help the bride, Scott reminded us of the necessity to make sure our websites are all backed up – he does this for all of his customers so those of you who are lucky enough to have Scott look after your website can relax, the rest of you, beware, Toby is looking for people in business who need help in explaining at networking meetings what they do and getting the message across effectively, Alan Moller won more business than he expected by “being nosey” and digging into what his customer really needed rather than what he said he needed, Nick Cooke told us how he has helped get trees removed even when there was a tree preservation order of them and John Freemen explained that all is not as it seems in the house where he is installing 5 bathrooms as the walls are all from very different periods in time and he too has now had dealings with the conservation officers !
The Oscar (awarded by Simon Essex, was won by Dan Wright for his explanation that the reason he was not at last weeks meeting was that something more important in life, his young daughter, came first and the award was very popular.
10-minute presentation by Dan Golding (on behalf of Tim Heard)
Unusually this was not in fact undertaken by our member Tim Heard but by his colleague Dan who is the person at the company TD Software Ltd and Dan proceeded to tell us and Tim what the company do and don’t do. It is clearly a complex area so well done Dan on giving us some clear examples of what the company does and also the warning to us not to rely on Microsoft Excel, a good clear presentation.
Referrals and testimonials
A speedy session of referrals and testimonials with Terry Maylin thanking the group as a whole for their Google testimonials which directly let to two client this week. The meeting came to an end and our congratulations to an excellent guest Chairmanship by Howard Bullock ( encouraged as always by the naughty corner).
Great blog Terry and well done to Howard for chairing an exceptional meeting.

Great meeting good couple of visitors this week from affordable roofing, Tony & Dean who fitted in very well I thought, hope to see them back again. Tim was so pleased with Dan’s presentation he just couldn’t hide it and Ben found a long lost cousin. Congrats to Dan.
Very well done to Terry, Dan and Howard. I heard every word clearly enunciated by our stand in Chairman. Good Meeting.
I’m glad Holly was there in my stead – it sounds like she did a good job and enjoyed the meeting!
Surprised there weren’t more shenanigans though with our regular chairman away.
All the best and see you soon
