Beautiful weather, suddenly its warmer and everyone is in much more relaxed mode.ย There were still several absentees but we managed ย 23 in number ย to include 2 visitors.
Education Presentation
Terry Maylin did an impromptu presentation ย reminding us how to properly fill in the referral forms and the activity record; for several new members it was a useful explanation and for most other members it was a timely reminder.ย Completing these 2 forms accurately means that Scott Griffiths is able to produce the accurate statistics that we need to demonstrate the referrals passed and the business written which is at the heart of our organisations purpose.
The Performance League
We are now well into June and Stuart Smallcombe was delighted to be mentioned as being third in this monthโs performance league.ย However with there being two members holding second place he felt that in reality he was fourth!!!โฆhe bore the disappointment well.ย Paul Booth being the winner for May received his certificate. No doubt it will be another to join the many that festoon his office walls, well done Paul.
The 60 Second Round
Jo Jones referred to the hot weather and the importance of remaining hydrated.
Richard Reed, who complained last week that he did not receive a mention can now continue reading this Blog with relief.ย He talked about his own upcoming holiday.ย He expressed a preference for โtours with interestโ in places such as Cuba, Costa Rica and Mexico but the Reed household apparently canโt make up its mind where to go.ย I suppose he is organising holidays but the decision as to where to go is with someone else.
The School of Whimsy this week was relatively un-whimsical and I only mention Brian Painter because he started so promisingly.ย He talked about baby food and the things that are added to make them more palatable.ย Lulled into a sense of false security we all awaited further saccharine coated information.ย In fact he then made the inevitable leap to cigarettes and what is added to them to make them more palatable, I should have known better!!!
Stuart Smallcombe, hereinafter โthe fourth manโ, told of how a customer had been broken into, and by broken into he meant his telephone lines were hacked.ย He offered protection.
Jill Willis produced a well-crafted 60 seconds that ticked all the boxes as to what should be included.ย Her absence on holiday obviously inspired her to put together a brief outline of what she does.ย She kind of ruined it all by verbalising Disney Land and declaring that after her holiday she was fully Disneyed โฆaaahhh!ย Caroline Hartnet also was similarly on message and warning of the pricing of the services that they provided when comparing them with other providers.ย It was my turn to award the Oscar this week and by this stage I thought it was one of Jill or Caroline who would be the deserving winners but I failed to take in the Paul Booth phenomenon.ย He produced a 50 year old bunny to illustrate the importance of ensuring that you keep under review established business relationships to make sure quality is being maintained.ย It was a John Malkovich moment. Award ย me ย the Oscar โโฆor the bunny gets itโฆโ ย Both entertaining and apposite.ย I had no problems awarding him the Oscar. His second award of the day.
This weeks statistics and points of note
- 21 Members present
- 2 Visitors, John Hammond and Neill Boatman
- Mayโs Performance League winner Paul Booth
- 15 Referrals
- ยฃ6,000 worth of business recorded.
Questions & Answers Session
Dimitar Bakalov was in line to present the 10 minute Slot but the technology was not present to allow him to link up and provide his picture show.ย He accordingly was relegated to another week when he can link up with David Plumley and have the technology at his fingertips.ย We settled instead for a question and answer session.ย Coming infrequently as it does this session is not only useful but works very well when used sparingly.ย Today was a typical example and it was a greatโฆ.
Meeting Summary
With the potential of new recruits the sun shining an energetic meeting we headed into June on a very optimistic note.ย Lets see if we can get the numbers up for next week.
Superbunny says he enjoyed the meeting and it was nice seeing you all. He was disappointed about the breakfast because there were no carrots.
Well done Paul on the Oscar and the league… I would say “pulled another rabbit out the hat” but we wouldn’t want Superbunny getting jealous would we!
Apologies for the absence again – hope to see you all next week
Thanks Stuart. I was hoping to use the rabbit out of the hat quip for another occasion but you used it first – hare today, gone tomorrow.
Well done superbunny on your sterling performance! Well done Jill on getting back into the swing of things and even dealing with my off the cuff question! Good meeting all and lets hope some of the 13 missing are back soon.
? Is the venue big enough for the missing 13, congrats Paul on a well-deserved Oscar, good meeting, shame about Dimi not getting to do his 10min presentation, I was looking forward to that, but I enjoyed the Q & A session, never done that before, catch you all next week “thatโs all folks” ๐ฐ
The bunny definitely stole the show today to prove that Paul is far more than your usual accountant. AND I got a mention today ๐ ๐
Great to be back, see you all next week!
