We had the pleasure of Jane standing in as Chairperson for Aidan who is topping up his tan in the Lake District today. We were a select band of just 19, a bit of a shock after 26 last week and Scott was back to standing up without too much pain today.
The Performance League
The performance league has become the battle of the Pauls and with another 2 meetings this month it is all to play for. A special mention to Leann who is doing her best to break up the Pauls at the top of the leaderboard and currently in third place.
Education Presentation
Jane as well as chairing the meeting was responsible for todays education slot. She emphasised how it is important to make your 60 seconds memorable in whatever way you need to so that you are the one who is remembered once we leave the meeting, sometimes funny, sometimes quirky and sometimes just a bit rude or cheeky.
The 60 Second Round
Catherine Foley still clutching the Oscar from last week kicked off the 60 second round by asking for us to look out for family and friends who have students at university who are preparing dissertations which she can help polish and proof read.
Leann Reason reminded us that it is mental health week and that she can help by cheering up and refreshing your home or office to help your mood . She also asked us to share and like her various social media posts so please do that for her if you can.
Paul Corrigan is looking for a heating and plumbing engineer and especially someone who specialises in boiler repairs so please keep your ears and eyes open for him.
Scott has been working almost exclusively for EBF members this week including Blake Hammond, Paul Corrigan, Joshua and Kory! He should be receiving lots of testimonials and google reviews shortly then.
Stuart Smallcombe reminded us that he now does cyber security products for small to medium sized businesses .
Shannon, standing in for Clara reminded us that One woman away does not mean business will stop and she is carrying on valiantly in spite of Claras holiday.
Jane reminded us that it is now officially picnic season! She sought to make our mouths water with descriptions of the various lovely goodies she can put together for your picnic.
10-minute presentation by James Humphreys
Ben Golding announced the presenter of the 10 minute presentation which this week was by our insurance  specialist James Humpheys.
James gave us a quick reminder of his bio and then explained in humorous terms why you need an insurance broker especially with business insurance. He told us a few of the horror stories he has come across over the years and the story of the sweet old lady and her ironing board accident involving a cat!
Although he claims not to like insurance it is clear that he has a very good grasp of what is important so that his clients and thus he can sleep soundly at night.
Great meeting, as always. See you the Thursday after next.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings this morning and just to clarify there was no cat!
I really enjoyed your presentation this morning James. You made insurance interesting!
