Essex Business Forum have chosen to support two local charities with whom two of our members have close personal connections. Throughout the year our members will be putting on a number of fund raising activities and initiatives, and your support whenever and however you can would be much appreciated.

Message from Scott Griffiths: I’m a Scout Leader at 3rd Brentwood and our group supports nearly 100 young children and adults from the Brentwood area. Our old hut was condemned and so Brentwood Council kindly gave us a new building from which to operate, but this building does not have any toilet facilities, or a store room or a kitchen.
We’re fundraising to extend this building and include these essential services. Progress is painfully slow as we’re only able move forwards with the building project as we collect enough money to pay for it.
Our target is to raise £20,000 to fund this work, and every penny counts.

Message from Terry Maylin: I know a little girl called Ruby who has Rett. She is adorable and it is terrible to see her in her chair unable to walk or speak when children of her age should be able to do anything they want to.
The good news is there is a cure on the horizon which can actually reverse the condition and Ruby is at the top of the list to receive it when it is ready….
Reverse Rett is a UK medical research charity working to speed treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome. Rett Syndrome has already been reversed in the lab. We work to drive these promising lab developments into tangible treatments and a cure for people living with Rett Syndrome today.
