The second Thursday without a meeting at Calcott Hall. The withdrawal symptoms were somewhat mitigated by two things, the weather has been glorious this week and much appreciated by those of us that are banged up; virtual meeting of 18…yes 18 Members…’ took place in the land of zoom, all of this down to the hard work of Scott Griffiths.
So, there is now the wherewithal to get your EBF shot every week and I promise to be there next week.
Privilege
The advantage of working from home is that you can sneak out and take in the “rays”. I confess to this.
We all know the privilege the Royal Family enjoy and kind of accept it as part of our everyday lives. A new badge of this privilege was revealed this week, one gets access to testing for the virus which mere mortals do not get as a matter of course.
Keep Safe
Now that you have a virtual meeting there is no need to expose yourselves unnecessary. Continue maintaining the “Peter Crouch lying horizontally” distance from your fellow man.
Personal Pitch
My customary urge is not to be so indelicate or self-promotional in my Blogs, but I feel this us be cast to the wind.
This Virus has clearly forced us, certainly those of a certain age or with certain health predispositions to recognise our mortality.
Extend that recognition by ensuring that you, your loved ones and your acquaintances join the 40% of the population who have made Wills. I have just received instructions on two Wills that are being dealt with without a meeting.
A questionnaire and a telephone call can provide me with all the instructions I need to prepare a Will and send it to the client to execute and finalise at home.
We have electronic referral slips now. Here is a chance to use them as well as ensuring proper provision is made in the event of death.
Seeing’s Believing I am expecting to scale the technological heights of Skype this coming week. Giving me instructions may then have the dubious benefit, should you choose to use it, of being face to face with me.
Dress up Friday
With more and more of us working from home I am going to try and make the effort this week. I am reliably informed that our Pilgrim does this everyday and that Richard Reed never does it.
I hope my next Blog will be fuelled by my involvement with next weeks virtual meeting. Let’s try and get more than 18 of us.
Was an absolute privilege to be part of the first virtual meeting. It was delightful to see everyone even though I could only see half the people but I could hear everyone.
Again great effort from Scott for making this possible.
Stay safe everyone.
Apologies for not making the first one folks but I expect to be involved next week. The feedback from fellow members has been excellent – all credit to Scott who did a brilliant job for us with this.
Keep safe eveyone.
Yes what a great way to start the day, it really cheered me up and as always very upbeat, we will come through this ! Good job Scott that worked really well and i will be trying the new virtual forms soon!
p.s i have got our esteemed chairman a webcam and will be delivering it to him this weekend( while out on my once a day exercise of course- no one said it cant be a 30 mile round trip on your bike)
Only 30 miles Tel, your losing your touch!
It was a great meeting on zoom . I did dress up for the meeting , What you did not see I was still in my pants , just had a shirt and jumper on 🙂 , Nice to see Aiden is making the most of the virus . I will be clear of isolation by Monday . All I need now is the test to show I have had it ,then I should be immune and I can go out and help people who need help
Shame i couldn’t make the meeting this week, cheers Aidan for your muse, have a great weekend all and “see” you all next week
Well done Scotty, I enjoyed seeing you all. As I mentioned in my talk, Howard suggested we all make 3 Facetime calls a day. Not necessarily with fellow members, but with colleagues, friends, family and clients. It really is a good way to stay in touch. Stay safe folks and don’t touch anything! x
Well done, Scott, A great achievement! If I manage to tune in next week I’ll know I’ve cracked the technology. Welcome back, Mr Chairman, I’m missing the blog,
Great job Scott. it worked really well
Well done Scott, and to everybody who attended the “VM” it was great to see some of you, and hear from many more who i couldn’t see, due to using my phone, not my pc 😉
And thanks for the muse Aiden, especially since I have a little more time on my hands to read it 😊
Hope to see you all at the next “VM” 😊
You have different viewing options on iPhone. Just swipe left and right to see them. I think the far left is the best. Full screen of whoever is speaking with thumbnail of yourself in the top right
