A dull miserable morning in sharp contrast to 23 bright and happy members who were all assembled by 7.30am.
The Performance League
For the month of August the winner was Sarah Steel, followed by Toby Acton and Howard Bullock; congratulations to all but special congrats to Sarah who is a winner for the first time.
Education Presentation
Ben Golding was back after his house move. Getting the 60 second round presentation right was his theme pointing out the need to make sure you stick to the 60 seconds if for no other reason than to show respect to other members. Always practice your presentation. This will ensure content is put over well as well as getting the timing right. If we follow Ben’s advice the meeting will flow and finish in good time.
Membership Matters
Terry Maylin had a lot to report. John Freeman’s sabbatical is to continue for another month but he is still open for referrals. Nick Cooke, one of the long-standing members, has renewed. He left the best ’til last…..Nathan Howson is now a fully-fledged member. Welcome, Nathan.
The 60 Second Round
With Ben Golding’s admonitions ringing in our ears we kept it tight.
Scott Griffiths was awarding the Oscar and also devoted his presentation to explain about “live chat” on the website. Useful.
Sarah Steel addressed us from her new office at The Hermitage; all white and pristine (the room that is). Did you know it’s pension awareness week coming up?
Matt Barry is also back in his office with all staff present. Talking of presents…… That’s what he bought for all of his staff as a starting off
present.
Howard Bullock has a client who has just sold his business. Howard is helping him to invest the proceeds.
Richard Reed did anyone notice that he was wearing his badge. I think he deserves extra points for the effort.
As well as Matt Barry, Paul Dulieu was back from holiday as was Alan Moller. Not only did they all look fit, but they were also all sporting facial hair.
Colin O’Connor has a special September offer! Free Health and Safety review…..take him up on it!!!
Toby Acton is still deep diving but is now doing it in order to sell light bulbs (Road to Damascus stuff) to his disciples.
Simon Essex is putting recruitment to one side for the moment and promoting “The Greenhouse” selling plants and wellbeing. He showed us the shop on-screen and invited us to visit. We should all try….but not all at the same time.
Ben Golding looked up an old friend from 26 years back. And what did he do? He sold her on Utility Warehouse saving her £100.00 per month. Of far more importance, the Piggy is back.
Undeterred by the appearance of said pig Terry Maylin had the Mayor of Gants Hill make him up some leaflets. These leaflets have already netted Terry two referrals, a good double act.
So who won the Oscar? Ben Golding of course, who could resist a good reunion and a pink pig. Well, not Scott Griffiths.
Meeting Secretaries Report
In his guise as Meeting Secretary, Scott Griffiths had more good news for us. This month £50,666.00 worth of business was recorded, an average referral being worth £840.00.
10-minute presentation by Vincent Goode
Vincent Goode gave us a slide show. It started with Vincent as a schoolboy which showed him in a blazer and also wearing hair. Subsequent imagery of an adolescent Vince revealed him with Andrew Ridgely locks. We had all just about recovered from the display of his barnet when the slide show came to the business end of things. We saw a great representation of his product.
Well presented and so informative that we were all too stunned to ask any questions. Over recent months he has demonstrated great acumen in adapting to the changed situation brought on by the virus. Excellent and cuddly!
With a Referrals Round that reflected good business being passed the meeting came to a close in good time.
It was lovely to be back and to see you all this morning. It was, as always, a fabulous meeting with Ben Ben’s Ed slot and Vince’s excellent 10 minutes which clearly confirmed to me if you want to get ahead, get a hat. Sorry I had to leave early but duty called. Have a good week everyone and see you bright and early next Thursday.
It was so good to be back!! Missed your happy, smiley faces the last 2 weeks!!
Fantastic presentation from the mayor of Gants Hill!! Well done Vince – great to see you too used to have hair!
See you all next week! 😁
Hair today gone tomorrow. It was a pleasure sharing my story with you. And yay! No awkward questions to answer. Well done all. See you next week
Congratulations Ben on winning the Oscar, glad to see that piggy back, cough cough!!. Welcome Nathan to the group and a great 10 minutes from Vince sporting hair! Have a relaxing weekend all, cheers Alan
Ps Ben, thanks for telling me where the light switch was, couldn’t help looking!
Well done, Ben Ben, back to basics regarding the 60 seconds. Great to see Vincent in those wigs, wear one when we’re back to physical meetings, you know the expression, hair today gone tomorrow! Good luck, Simon, on your new venture. Congratulations, Sarah, on topping the league.
good meeting with a good positive vibe. Nice 10 minutes Vince and well to the group Nathan!
Very upbeat meeting this morning. Welcome Nathan and well done Vince & Ben.
Thanks for your 10 minute slot Vince, you always bring a smile :-). And good to see you back Ben, and a great ed slot too. Welcome Nathan – look forward to catching up.
Welcome Nathan looking forward to hearing more about your company. Great 10 minutes Vince and you did you like Andrew Ridgeley out of Wham in one of the photos 🙂 Great Ed Slot too Ben and well done for winning the Oscar. Have a great weekend and see you all next week.
Well done Vince. Brilliant as always. Good to see you face to face yesterday.
Well done Ben, that was one of the nicest telling offs i have ever had! Great 10 minutes Vince, you have character which is what makes you so successful. Really great to be able to welcome Nathan and let’s all get to know him and find him the business he came to the group for and in turn i am sure he will do the same for us all – simples!
Excellent presentation Vince and a good Ben Ben special for the education slot . Whilst I miss the actual meetings I do think the virtual meetings get better each week. . One advantage is that I was able to email two clients during the meeting who would be interested in two of the specific requests mentioned whilst still listening. Multi tasking for a Man – impressive
Blake said it was a Great meeting . Nathan you have joined a fantastic business group .See you all next week
Our usual high standard of meeting achieved once more. A new member, welcome to Nathan Howson to whom I wish every success + the renewal of a long standing member – Nick Cooke congrats.
An excellent “Ed” slot from Ben and a very professional presentation from Vincent and 23 in attendence a very good turn out.
