It was as if I hadn’t been away, well in reality I had only been missing for last week’s meeting. Now that the meeting convenes in broad daylight the early start is a prospect less daunting. Certainly everyone was bright eyed and bushy tailed as we mingled before the meeting proper.
The Performance League
Scott Griffiths is out front with 224 points followed by Paul Booth, Terry Maylin and Vincent Goode. Make sure you get your referrals in by the end of this week and challenge those out front.
Education Presentation
It was Ben Golding instructing us. A resident of Colchester, a Roman town, caused him to muse upon what the Romans had given to us. Roads, Viaducts, Wine and even the humble Pizza. What can we learn from them; apparently the importance of having a system for everything you do. Once you’ve got a system, if it isn’t working, change it to one that does work. This applies to your business and also your membership of EBF. Plan your presentations to the group, plan you’re 1-2-1s and plan to attend synergy team meetings if you can.!!
The 60 Second Round
Jane Malyon has become; an ‘influencer’ on TikTok, a publicist of her business nationwide and the host of a hen party which was perhaps a little less than conventional when compared with a cream tea. She also was this week’s Oscar judge.
Ben Golding was at his alliterative best with his ‘Bill Busting Boost that Utility Warehouse can offer to its customers along with the savings and the potential for extra income if you become involved in selling the business to your friends and family. Like Ben, Toby Acton trod a usual path with his motivational maps. Slightly less familiar was Matt Barry informing us of his company’s involvement in social media. He can help you understand, manage and get your brands in front of the public through social media.
Two of the Mikes were with us today. Mike Rogers for the last time. He was able to recite at an impressive history of assistance that he has given to members and their referees. He has placed 1,569 mortgages with a 95% retention. He has been involved with 552 first time buyers and his most loyal customer he has helped on 54 occasions. Jane Malyon was torn between him and the other Mike, to wit Skinner as to who should receive the Oscar. It was Mr Skinner who finally triumphed with a 60 seconds that warned about not missing opportunities for business. He emphasised the importance of follow up and Jane’s follow up was indeed to award him the Oscar. Heaven knows what would have happened if the third Mike had been present. Now that we have lost Mr Rogers the search is not only on for a new mortgage broker but also another member called Mike, who by the way need not be a mortgage broker. You all know the categories, so get out there and search.
Other members were also on message. From Speed Print you not only get prompt attention but you also get a Vince. From John Hammond you always get quality, this week in relation to CCTV. You should be able to tell the difference when you play it back. Blobs can become human beings with the right equipment.
Terry Maylin had a theme relating to personal injury claims. Time can be very relevant and he has recently experienced new clients who have been previously serviced by solicitors who did nothing over a considerable period of time to advance their client’s claims. The subsequent negligence claim produced £45,000. Get it right in the first place and go to Terry.
Scott Griffiths grades his hosting packages with reference to the elements. Iridium is top of the list with a very substantial package that he was able to illustrate by standing on a chair and holding his hands above his head above his head. It must have been a contender for the Oscar, if for no other reason than his sheer athleticism in leaping on and off his chair.
An eventful round.
10-minute presentation by Howard Bullock
This week it was Howard Bullock who lived up to his businesses title in giving a Clear presentation of how you should approach saving for your retirement through pension investments. Handy graphs by way of illustration made for a very interesting 10 minutes which stimulated a lot of questions answered in Clear terms.
Referrals and Testimonials Round
The meeting was concluded with a positive referrals and testimonials round and we ran right up to our 8.30am time limit. We then adjourned with those of us attending the Business to Consumer synergy team meeting staying behind for a lively half an hour session very effectively chaired by Jane Malyon. Watch out for the minutes!
A compact and bijou meeting with an excellent education slot by Ben Ben and a very informative 10-minute presentation by Howard Bullock. It will be great to see some of our absentees back soon- get a new alarm clock those that overslept!
It was Mr. Roger’s last meeting today and he will be sadly missed and it will be hard to fill his shoes with this category. Great meeting although a little thin on the ground, great ed slot from Ben and great 10 minutes from Howard. Have a great bank holiday and see you all next Thursday.
Really sorry to see you go Mr Rogers and all the best for you’re retirement! Will be greatly missed.
Fantastic 10 minutes Howard and good Ed slot from whoever did it
We can’t replace Mr Grumpy but he will be greatly missed. Really good 10 minutes by Mr Bullock.
So we’re down to just two Mike’s. Does anyone know any Mike’s who they can bring along to steady our quotient of Mike’s? Preferably a mortgage consultant named Mike.
Fair-thee-well to Mike. One of the most legendary members of EBF and my first nomination into the EBF Hall of Fame!
