Another full(ish) house as we gathered to usher in May. We had visitors in Roger Malyon and first time visitor Richard Pollock both of whom went towards 23 of us ready to go. Whilst all of this was upbeat there was no granola available for the devotees of the healthy option. The replacement appeared to be sausage in healthy brown bread. The Naughty Corner also were given a placard to advertise their presence produced by Blake Hammond.
The Performance League
M&S appeared to be not alone with their online presence. Scott Griffiths was without the full statistics but was able to confirm that Paul Dulieu was April’s winner in a closely fought contest with Paul Corrigan. I’m sure that he will be back in control before you can say ‘M&S underwear’.
Education Presentation
Now that we have an educator in our midst it would be silly not to take advantage of this and accordingly this week Catherine Foley embarked upon her maiden voyage. It seemed therefore wholly appropriate that she should regale us with things like acronyms and alliteration. Her subject was persuasive techniques and her acronym to make sure you remember them was ‘A Forest Pier’ She attributed the various techniques to individual websites in the group. Well researched and entertaining, so far as I could tell it was also grammatically accurate throughout. We look forward to further contributions
The 60 Second Round
Jane Malyon was the Oscar holder in celebration of all things bucolic. What with it being spring and all that, she produced a mouthwatering picture of a grazing table. She was not the only one who graced their 60 seconds with pictures. Matt Berry was celebrating his promotion of Essex County Cricket Club and he is looking for other sporting clients such as rugby clubs etc.
Kory Martin innovated by getting us all to open up our mobile phones to look at aspects of his website. Did anyone other than me not have his mobile phone available to join in! Anyway, look on his website and give him some feedback
Generally the round was inventive so far as many of the contributors were concerned. James Humphreys was the only one brave enough to wear shorts, Clara Downton was reporting low interest rates and the need for people who are contemplating new loans or upgrading old loans to contact her. Dave Roberts can help people wanting to install car chargers, not only for just doing the work but also advising on grants available to do it. Joshua Ayettey styled himself a problem solver with his added value by helping clients get the development they want through his knowledge or what can be got through the Planners. Toby Acton was also styling himself as a problem solver in helping business owners align their mission, vision and values
Blake Hammond this week was advocating group walkie-talkie use and Vince(nt) Goode extolling the virtues of mailers. If this is an attractive proposition, make sure that you get them printed on both sides so that they are not ignored when they are posted through a letterbox and fall wrong side up
All in all a lively round and the Oscar award went to the man who revealed more of his legs than anyone else, James Humphreys for his illustration of what a good broker should do or rather what a bad broker shouldn’t do but probably will do..
10-minute presentation by Ben Golding
Ben as always was his entertaining self. A brief potted history of himself, a video presentation by another Ben(Fogle) and then his entertaining pitch of all things Utility Warehouse. Members will get a free energy day per month if they have two products, more if you’ve got more, instant top ups and the benefits to both him and us of being connectors.
See you all next week
Great meeting, great choice by Jane and a decent set of pins on show. All in all, a good morning.
Great meeting, thank you all!
Love the ed slot and 10 mins, Catherine is a natural…. As is Ben!
I’m sure that he will be back in control before you can say ‘M&S underwear’ 😂😂
Good to see that James had his chicken legs out on display. I hope the meeting went well, and I’ll see you all next week. Have a great weekend and enjoy the weather.
What a great, lively meeting and great to see yet another visitor who hopefully will like what they saw ( apart from James legs!) and come back.
Great meeting today! Absolutely loved Catherine’s Ed slot!! Definitely off to a flying start!! Also fab to see another visitor ( plus Roger and his hands )!!
Looking forward to getting the ‘connectors’ up and running!!
Though will definitely have to dig out my shorts if that’s all it takes to win the Oscar ha ha 🤣
A great meeting, although I had trouble concentrating due to James’ legs and Terry’s socks!
Lovely to see Roger and his hands and meet our other visitor who hopefully enjoyed the meeting too.
A really good ed slot, well done Catherine and well done Ben our UW hero on your 10 mins.
Don’t concern yourselves with the healthy granola option folks, the toasted bacon sandwich has everything you need for your five a day (if you douse the bacon with liberal use of tomato ketchup). Other than that, well done Ben Ben Golding and his brand ambassador Ben Ben Fogle (daughter of Julia Foster, the bird in Half A Sixpence). See you next week
Great meeting as usual. Lovely to see Roger looking so well and a real treat to see James’s knees.
Another wonderful day at Calcott Hall Farm and the EBF meeting. Great Ed slot Catherine. As always Ben your presentation are as slick as ever timed to perfection. Well done Paul on winning the speakers prize.
An excellent meeting, as always. Well done on your 10 Mins Ben Ben, your Ed Slot Catherine (have you ever thought of going into teaching?) and lovely to see Roger and to meet Richard. Less lovely to see James’ legs. However, it did remind me that I need to order two bottles of milk tomorrow. 😉
Great meeting all round. bravo Ben and Catherine!
Superb meeting as always. A superlative 10 mins from Ben Ben as always and wooded quays (or something like that) for a first Ed Slot from from our EDitor-in-Chief Catherine
