There was a small but select group of us today numbering 16 including one Guest Roger Maylon.
Due to our esteemed leader’s absence on his hols, Howard Bullock stood in as chairperson and had his two wingmen from the naughty corner at close hand to support him, which they did admirably.
The Performance League
Top of the pile this month was Jane Malyon with over 200 points however there are four members over the 100 points mark which is great. The month’s performance was also characterised by a healthy sum of money received.
Education Presentation
This week’s presenter, Ben Ben, demonstrated with the aid or a prop being an empty chair the importance of attending the meetings as unless you are there neither you nor we can promote your business, this is especially true if there are visitors as they will never know you even exist.
The 60 Second Round
This first major part of the meeting was set underway not by our current Oscar winner Aidan due to his hols but by Vince Goode in his stead. If he had not been presenting the Oscar its probably fair to say that Vince would have won it with an excellent presentation including the caressing of business cards!
Toby Acton read out a testimonial from Gavin Perrett who some of us know and it was a glowing testament to Toby’s motivational mapping which is one of the things he promotes regularly.
James Humphries is looking for retailers , haridressers, pubs restaurants and the like for commercial insurance services please.
Mike Hickson gave an excellent example of where using his company’s services actually saves you money where you think doing it yourself is best. The director who was doing the I.T services which Mike now does has freed up billing hours way in excess of what they will pay Mike to manage their I.T – win win!
Rosemarie Driscoll told us that its not too early to book next years summer holiday but that if you want to book for this year she can still do that and probably save you money.
Tina Walker regaled us with 5 reasons why you should consider using a Virtual Assistant being Time saving, cost, flexibility increased productivity and better work life balance.
Scott reminded us that it is very important to have decent secure passwords to protect your I.T from cyber hacks which cause mayhem.
Finally Paul Booth reminded us that his company do payroll and he recently saved a client thousands of pounds by taking over their small payroll job for which they had been charged an exorbitant amount.
Roger Maylon educated everyone with details of what facilities there are at the secret scenery for small private parties as well as afternoon teas and even hen parties!
10-minute presentation by Jane Malyon
Roger was made doubly welcome when he cut up and served his home made Pavlova which had EBF on the top created from Strawberries- very nice is was too-please come back soon Roger.
Ben Ben then introduced the 10 minute speakers and Education slot speakers for the next few weeks before introducing todays 10 minute speaker Jane Maylon of The English Cream Tea Company.
Jane gave an excellent and warm presentation on her life from childhood to now and she has clearly had and excellent life which she views very positively including tracking down her birth parents and her finding her extended family in Canada.
Jane also told us how her inspiration for the English Cream Tea Company came about by a lady who loved afternoon tea at the Ritz but could not longer travel due to her health and so the idea was born to take cream teas to the customer instead.
Other Business
There followed a lively referrals and testimonials round and at the end Tina won the door prize for the second week running – remember you have to be in it to win it!
Under the any announcements section Jane confirmed that there will be a synergy meeting straight after next weeks meeting for B2C but all are welcome.
Well done to our stand in Chairperson who kept the meeting on track aided undoubtedly by the remaining members of the naughty corner!
A marvellous gathering this week. I personally am delighted that Toby won the Oscar, which took everyone by surprise. Howard’s leadership style can only be described as jovially aggressive, which certainly kept us on our best behaviour. A jolly spiffing presentation from Fanny Craddock and Johnny. The pavlova was deliciouis especially at 8 in the morning.
And I was the most surprised!
well done Ben great visual reminder and lovely presentation by Jane and Roger!
Fantastic meeting!! Absolutely loved Jane and Roger’s presentation!! Such a fantastic background and journey!
Plus who doesn’t like cake in the morning!! 💜
Great ed slot Ben and the chair didn’t say too much LOL. Great presentation Jane and Roger thank you for the pavlova. See you all next Thursday
Auntie Jane and Jolly Roger you excelled yourselves! Jane with your fascinating bio and Rog (can I call you that) for the magnificent Pavlova. Good visual demonstration from Ben squared with the empty chair and that was followed by two more members who presented empty chairs for next week so that’s three chairs hip hip… Have a good weekend.
After coming down from my early morning sugar rush from the excellent pavlova I reflected on an excellent meeting which had everything: an empty chair which gave a great contribution, a fantastic presentation from Jane and Roger (complete with the aforementioned sweet treat), the (temporary?) migration of the naughty corner and the expected award of the Oscar to ours truly.
Sounds Like I missed a great meeting and even better Pavlova. Sorry I was stuck in Bristol.
We really enjoyed the meeting and Roger didn’t really mind making you all an EBF Pavlova!! Well done Ben too. All such fun! 😀
