Chairman’s Business Networking Blog Tuesday 25th March 2014.
16 members present.
Paul Lefever’s sub Dan Tarrant joined 2 other guests, Dean Smith a Roofer and David Dumbell a Photographer, the latter 2 of which have taken away application forms with enthusiastic indications that they will be returning next week.
19 in all saw the meeting kicked off with apologies for absence from Iain Douglas and Jim Henshaw.
Nige Kirby’s Ed Slot was an explanation of the nature and function of the Synergy Teams that we are looking to form. This will form the basis of discussion in a committee meeting following next week’s meeting when all are welcome to attend.
In a meeting where we were looking ahead to form Synergy Teams, I looked for some sort of synergy in presentations in the 60 second round. With such a diversity of members it is not easy to find but here goes.
Hugo Heij reads a lot of books; Anne Clarke was selling book keeping services.
Scott Griffiths wanted to manage other people’s web sites and apparently gets his little robots to work for him on this; Nige Kirby is looking to install heating systems and in the design and installation of said systems has a team of little rats. Dan Tarrant rather bravely declared that he was indeed Paul Lefever’s little rat.
A question for you all; why is Brian Painter like a can of Red Bull?
Well he told of curing a lady whose phobia was a fear of flying. After he had finished with her she no longer wanted to jump out of an aeroplane that was in flight. She has flown several times since. Not only did Brian give us an insight of what might have occurred in a certain Malaysian Aircraft, she has now managed several flights without incident.
The answer, it can be said that Brian Painter gives you wings.
Apart from Stuart Sinclair trying to sound like a chicken, the rest of you delivered your messages simply and clearly but sadly gave me no opportunity to seriously take the pee.
Ian Nicholson quick rightly awarded the Oscar to Vivienne, whose 60 seconds made it very clear exactly what she did and what sort of work she was looking for.
Despite generally receiving no inspiration for my Blog from the rest of you, it was a good 60 second round that owes much to everybody’s improved techniques.
It was my turn to do the 10 minute session. Thank you all for a least giving the impression that you were listening attentively to my every word, or was it you were all simply stunned by everyone sporting their new name badges. For those of you who tend to forget who you are during the meeting as you are now wearing the badge, although you cannot read it yourself you can always check with your neighbour who should be able now to give you an accurate answer.
This week I did not give out a specific visitor to invite for next week’s meeting, so may I suggest we keep up our search for somebody who is a Motor Mechanic or in the Motor Trade or alternatively someone with the name of Iain/Ian spelt to the English or the Scottish way. We probably have enough for a Synergy Team already.
I hope to see a full house next week with another couple of visitors like this week.
As always an entertaining way to spend the early mornings! (which at least are light now). Hopefully we can get the new members we need to fill the spaces, and take the places of any who leave. The Oscar award was thankfully easy to make….Vivienne really did explain what World Options do and how they can help small businesses. Have a great week all….and see you next Tuesday!
Another great meeting, and hopefully two new members to join our group, I may well be in need of Dean’s roofing skills very soon. Well done Vivienne, superb chicken impression Stuart!. See you all next week
Welcome to our visitors, hope they join. I’m doing something wrong, I told Stuart he was a dog!
Nice to see the visitors, keep them coming , well done to Vivienne, starting to get the hang of the 60 second round.
The share feeling of encouragement coupled with doing what it takes to plug in has made World Options recognised. Phew! The race has just begunnnnnnn…… to leave up to the good name. Thanks bunch and see you all next week.
Really enjoyed my first meeting, thanks to all. Apologies for my tardiness, but I believe Scott knows why that was! Look forward to seeing you all again next Tuesday, in the right location this time! LOL!
Another great meeting and good to see some new faces this week.
Looking forward to next week.
