Chairman’s Business Networking Blog, Tuesday 23rd September 2014.
Holidays well and truly over and 16 present.
It was inevitable that the meeting will be dominated by next week’s Visitor’s breakfast and hopefully, both by use of the Ed Slot and the 10 minute presentation, foundations have been laid for us to co-ordinate our visitor efforts. Team Leaders to collate potential visitors on Friday of this week with a view to a final count of check of heads on Monday so that we can notify the Golf Club on what hopefully will be a realistic estimate of numbers.
Congratulations to everyone for their effort to date.
After all that what was left?
First of all there was a very good 60 second round. Here are some of the highlights;
Nige Kirby hates bathrooms but seems most concerned about his own pipe work and an upcoming operation – good luck Nige.
With Nige’s operation in mind he should bear in mind that Chris Adams has 5 support options that includes a premium plus service for which they drop everything. Acronyms abounded, with Ian Nicholson it was IHT and how you could avoid it, with Paul Lefever back from Morocco it was RCD. Both are trying to stop people having a shock; one from the tax man and the other from electrical systems.
Talking about people coming back from holiday, Dr. Deb was fresh and lively from her Las Vegans land holiday. Once again she is simply looking for skin and hair whilst Christine is offering pop up banners of a knock down price of £60.00.
It was Adam Hotson who caught Richard Willis’s eye who was awarding the Oscar with the information that employees can be treated with up to £150.00 per head so far a parties at Christmas are concerned but do not dare stray 1 penny above that figure or taxes will follow. Well done Adam and thank you Richard Willis for your little quiz, “every little helps”.
As to referrals and testimonials, there were 11 referrals of which 4 from Ian Nicholson. Gradual increases in numbers of referrals passed continues to improve; Let’s maintain the improvement for next week when I look forward to seeing all of you bright eyed and bushy tailed. Would members try and be available for 6am so that visitors can be welcomed and we can be set up in good time.
Enjoyable meeting, also well done to everyone who came to the golf, really enjoyed it, thanks to the golfers who helped the novices, me being one if the novices!.
Also one more final thought, shut your eyes and think of me having a shave this morning. Lol.x
The offer on pop-ups also applies to the Brentwood group… so feel free to pass this on!
Thanks Adam for the info on Christmas – Kestrel might get a Christmas do this year after passing this info onto our MD :))
Sorry I missed the Golf… but a worth while afternoon with the client picking up around £30k’s worth of business :)))))
See you all next week for the visitors day…
Can I encourage everyone to pull out all the stops to get as many guests for next week as possible. Aidan will be collating numbers toward the end of the week.
Well done English Ian for those referrals and to Adam for the Oscar and the info regarding the Christmas parties. Last year I staggered out of a pub and a policeman stopped me and said “allo, allo, and what have you been doing?” I told him I’d been to the firm’s Christmas party. He said “and where are the other members?” I told him I was self employed.
Good luck, Nige, have a ball.
