A bright sunny and uplifting morning found us with 22 Members and 2 visitors busily networking before the start of the meeting.
The Performance League
The results of the League for May were announced with 4 people topping more than 300 points. John Freeman was the winner by 21 points from Saj Sreedharan. Well done to both.
Education Presentation
Stuart Smallcombe had a tip for us all. I was rather hoping it was something to do with roses or the growing of vegetables. My hopes were dashed. A series of manoeuvres with your mobile phone which seemed to puzzle even some of the geeky amongst us showed how to make contact with members of Linked In.
points to anyone who next week can confirm they :-
- Used his tip
- made contact and
C used it usefully.
……..Thanks Stuart!
The 60 Second Round
The Oscar was judged by Mr Smallcombe and he was therefore first up. An ideal referral for him would be similar to a customer he has been working for this week; they were moving from the 4th floor to the 5thfloor of a building.
Marcelle Saad informed us the ideal cut for a round diamond to emphasise its brilliance which has been calculated as 57 facets and has recently changed to 58.
Simon Essex had as good news bad news story. He filled the vacancy at Wimbledon which apparently was not for a ball boy/girl; sadly the candidate had done the deal straight away for a period time that minimised his commission. It looks as if he is considering ways of nobbling his candidates to avoid this happening in the future.
Nick Cooke complained about clients knowing what they want but not knowing what to call it. A steel beam for an extension rather than a new house that was being bought was typical. Fear not, Nick can always rise to the occasion.
Saj Sreedharan told us of various orders he had received this week but nothing would have been so fulfilling as the job that he did for me last week. He delivered a beautiful bouquet of flowers to my mother. His real skill however was showing persistence in delivering them when he was faced with denial that they were for her. Thanks Saj I might think in terms of further jobs for you in attending my mother which might not necessarily involve flowers.
Once again David Plumley sought to confuse us with initialisms and acronyms to distinguish various email services, Once again the upshot is, if you don’t understand it, call for help from Integrate.
We all like to sing our own praises now and then and Ben Golding is no exception. He produced a magic lamp and turned himself into the genie thereof by putting on a stupid headdress. He emphasised the benefits of “savings, simplicity and service” and actually ended with a song. If nothing else it woke us all up.
Toby Acton has been watching trends. Apparently this year there was a record number of 70 year olds and there is a decrease in kids not wanting to take over the family business.
Paul Booth declared that he has a Viscount for a client but however impressive this was there was longevity abounding.
Ashley Bermange was squinting because he had left his glasses at home. It did not alter the fact however that he has been established for 35 years and that he enjoys what he does. Vincent Goode however is actually celebrating his 36 years in business. His birthday is apparently today. If it had been yesterday he could have claimed the Fly Past was for him. A photograph of him back in the day with “hair” tilted the balance and accordingly he won the Oscar. Well done the worshipful Mayor of Gants Hill.

10-minute presentation by Terry Maylin
Terry Maylin presented the 10 Minute Presentation and a very effective one it was to. Terry focused on the Personal Injury Work that he does and explained much more about it. He message was, “don’t let anyone on crutches pass you by without asking why they are on crutches and whether they have a claim”.
Great blog Aidan following a delightful meeting. Very technical Ed slot from Stuart and a very good ten minute presentation from Terry.
Well done Johnny Free on winning the performance league.
Good to see visitors but a little bit worried that Toby’s psychiatrist visited us too 😂
Have a great week everyone and see you all next week.
Great meeting as usual, well done Saj on winning the performance award for May, nice to see someone else at the top. Has anyone got a watch they can sell Ashley as his doesn’t seem to count to 60 seconds! Nice to see our visitors and particularly Ford the builder.
Terry I won back in April and I was second in May John Freeman was top in May
After a month away firstly with back problems and then on holiday I was reminded at just how good this group is. From the singing Genie to the perils of paper thin toilet tissue ,the 60 second round was as usual enjoyable but still on message. Well done Terry for another excellent 10 minute presentation.
36 years have postively flown by. If I’m here in the village for another 36 years, I will be 95. God help me. Great meeting and well done to Tezza “The Rottweiler” Maylin on a solid ten mins.
Are the flying years the reason you lost your hair lol
Sorry for missing you this morning – especially Terry’s presentation which are always great value. Hopefully my associates in TNC passed on my apologies.
