28 Members this week were assembled for 7.30am and so we launched our meeting.
The Performance League
Scott Griffiths is out front for this week; more notably Mike Rogers is currently second with Terry Maylin third.
Education Presentation
Simon Essex’s theme was respecting the environment in our businesses simply by doing small things that collectively can have a substantial impact. Things like eco-friendly packaging, consolidation of deliveries, reducing and recycling paperwork can make a difference.
New Member Induction & Existing Member Renewal
2 Members are up for renewal this month; John Freeman and Mason Edwards
The 60 Second Round
In Kieran Piety’s absence, Richard Reed stood in for Oscar adjudicating duties. Not a fan of the government’s mixed messages and traffic lights that don’t work he nonetheless felt able to suggest booking UK holidays of between 7 and14 days with the possibility of long haul flights from September…traffic lights permitting.
As things are unlocking several members are responding to what businesses need to be ready. Matt Barry is looking for offices that will need new signage. Stuart Smallcombe anticipates that some offices will reopen needing to balance attendance with home working VOIP can solve this. Nick Cooke has confirmed he is getting out more, as was apparent from the Lumberjack jacket hanging on the door. The list of people taking down walls is apparently never-ending. hence the need for steel beams.
Allan Moller, very respectfully, stood to address us, he is starting to get busier. Simon Essex is looking for corporate jobs, typically 2 hairdressers, one in Canning Town and the other in Brentwood will be using plants from the Greenhouse to separate off areas.
Mike Rogers has been at it for 32 years and is now doing it from the grandchildren of his original clients.
The winner of the “most useful category was Scott Griffiths pointing out how we should be presenting ourselves on the EBF Website, And he will help us do it.
The winner of the Oscar however was the Mayor of Gants Hill who saw himself as Austin Powers; he even had the teeth. This was typified by his matt laminated business cards and his own appearance which he described as “Middle-Aged Chic”…..as opposed to “Shabby Chic”. He cheered us up, which understandably appealed to Richard Reed.
This weeks statistics and points of note
Scott Griffiths reminded us that there were 68 referrals last month averaging £700.00 in value. He also reminded us about upgrading our profiles on the website as per his 60 second round presentation.
